But that's about to change as the notoriously bold automaker looks to get back in the small SUV game. With the all-new 2023 Hornet, people can enjoy an exciting Dodge experience with added practicality and a more convenient physical footprint.
2023 Dodge Hornet Performance
While it doesn't offer the ludicrous supercharged V-8 engines of its Charger, Challenger, and Durango siblings, the Dodge Hornet has plenty of motivation under the hood and more standard power than any vehicle in its class.
Hornet GT models are set in motion by a punchy turbocharged 2.0-liter mill that sends 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. Upgrading to one of the R/T trim levels gets you a 1.3-liter turbo-four paired that pairs with a plug-in hybrid system to produce 288 horsepower and 383 horsepower. While we don't have EPA numbers for the PHEV version, Dodge has targeted an all-electric range of more than 30 miles.
2023 Dodge Hornet Tech
The 2023 Dodge Hornet is impressively equipped with many appealing standard tech features, like a 12.3-inch full-digital instrument cluster and 10.25-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. You'll also get a suite of advanced safety technologies, including collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. An available Tech package adds driver aids like adaptive cruise, lane-centering, driver attention warning, and traffic sign recognition.
